Taylor Dann

Taylor Dann is a seasoned and accomplished attorney with diverse practice experience encompassing civil litigation, criminal defense including misdemeanors, felonies and driving under the influence claims. He also has experience in dispute resolution and has a robust record in civil and criminal litigation and high-stakes settlement. Graduating from UCSB with a BA in Political Science in 2012, Taylor continued academic success at Santa Clara Law School, earning a Juris Doctorate in 2016 with a specialization in Corporate High Tech Law and a High Technology Law Certificate (HTLC). 

Taylor’s legal career is distinguished by a wide range of achievements and experiences: 

• Civil Litigation and Personal Injury: Taylor has secured numerous significant settlements and verdicts and worked on a variety of injury cases and issues involving motorcycles, trucks, construction disputes, slander and defamation, elder abuse, medical malpractice, and more in both state and federal court including: 

• A landmark resolution exceeding $3 million against a prominent ride-share company. 

• An over $4 million resolution for a slip-and-fall wherein Plaintiff broke their nose which also resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  

• A verdict that resulted in an award of over $500,000.00 in a motorcycle-on-motorcycle collision case. 

• A $1.1 million premises liability claim settlement due to a faulty railing. 

• Negotiations resulting in a $2 million settlement in a multi-faceted legal dispute between multiple parties. 

• A $425,000.00 mediated settlement in a rideshare collision wherein the passenger was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision 

• Multiple $250,000.00 settlements for low-speed and medium-speed impacts. 

• A products liability matter wherein settlement negotiations resulted in $250,000.00 

• Successfully mediated a half a million-dollar settlement for a collision involving a rental truck.  

• Obtained millions of dollars in settlements from and against various trucking companies. 

• Secured over $2 million in settlements from hotels and bars in premises liability claims, including settlement for an individual who was injured by security after starting an altercation. 

• Totaled over $35 million in settlements, verdicts, arbitrations, and awards for clients across various legal disputes.

In addition to his robust record in civil litigation and personal injury matters, Taylor has experience in several other legal fields including: 

• Criminal Defense: Taylor has extensive experience defending clients in misdemeanor and felony cases, including high-level felonies. Taylor has passionately represented both paying clients and indigent individuals, advocating fiercely for the rights of the accused. 

• DUI Defense: Taylor has represented and defended individuals charged with driving under the influence felonies and misdemeanors for his entire career and has legal expertise in DUI defense including bringing a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success to his practice. He has successfully defended hundreds of clients against DUI charges, ranging from first-time offenses to complex cases involving multiple charges and aggravating factors. His expertise includes:  

• Challenging breathalyzer and field sobriety test results; Examining and contesting evidence; Navigating administrative hearings and license suspension issues through CA DMV and other administrative hearings; Negotiating plea bargains and reduced charges; and Representing clients in court, during testimony and throughout the criminal legal process. 

• Contract and Tenant-Landlord Disputes: Taylor has also effectively navigated complex contract disputes and resolved contentious issues in tenant-landlord relationships for both Landlords and Tenants, including issues of habitability, rental agreement disputes, lease agreements, security deposit disputes, rent-stabilized units, tenant protections, privacy and entry issues, subleasing and assignment negotiations or agreements, discrimination and fair housing laws and eviction notices. 

Taylor is widely recognized for being a skilled negotiator in mediations and settlement conferences.
